Hot Yoga General Description
Hatha – Yoga or “active yoga” is the most widely practiced form of yoga in America. Its focus is on physical health and mental well-being. It incorporates Asanas (postures), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Dhyana (mental concentration and focus) in order to bring about a sound and healthy body, and a clear and peaceful mind. There are over 200 hatha yoga postures, with hundreds of variations, which work to make the spine supple and to promote circulation in all the organs, glands and tissues. Hatha yoga postures also stretch and align the body promoting balance and flexibility.
Class Descriptions:
Classic 26 (90 min) - This class is a beginner friendly sequence of about 26 Yoga postures designed to increase strength, balance and flexibility. The room is heated in order to help safely align the body, allow for deeper release and opening, and aid in detoxification. The beauty and magic of the class is that everyone is receiving health benefits regardless of their ability. Highly trained and experienced Instructors will help you find the exact position that is right for you. Bring your mat, towel, water, and a smiling face.
Vinyasa Flow (90 min) – This class incorporates Asanas from our lineage in Calcutta into a “Vinyasa” (continuous flow) style. Hot Vinyasa is a vigorous class combining upper body strength, flexibility, and cardio and is designed for students of all levels (beginner friendly) seeking a challenge.
